The Retail Energy Supply Association is a broad and diverse group of retail energy suppliers who share the common vision that competitive retail electricity and natural gas markets deliver a more efficient, customer-oriented outcome than does the monopoly-protected, rate-regulated utility structure. RESA is devoted to working with all interested stakeholders to promote vibrant and sustainable competitive retail electric and natural gas markets in the best interests of residential, commercial and industrial consumers.
Regardless of their business model, all RESA members are dedicated to preserving and promoting competitive energy markets in the public interest.
The Retail Energy Supply Association is over 20 retail electricity and natural gas suppliers operating throughout the United States. Some members supply both electricity and natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers, while some members may supply only electricity or natural gas, and may only serve one or another class of customer. Not all RESA members operate in all the states that allow retail competition for electric and natural gas supply.
For information on member companies, the products and services they provide, and the states in which they operates, view the RESA Members section.
RESA is headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Executive Director is Tracy McCormick. The membership-elected president is Brenda Crockett, Vice President, Market Development and Regulatory Affairs, Champion Energy Services.
