The Retail Energy Supply Association is structured largely on a state-by-state basis. Each state has a policy monitoring group for electric and natural gas issues. The members of those groups elect a chair of their respective electric and natural gas policy monitoring group. The groups monitor policy developments related to electricity and natural gas retail competition, whether before state Legislatures or regulatory commissions and administrative agencies.
RESA’s membership of over 20 retail electricity and natural gas suppliers collectively operate throughout the United States. Some members supply both electricity and natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers, while some members may supply only electricity or natural gas, and may only serve one or another class of customer. Not all RESA members operate in all the states that allow retail competition for electric and natural gas supply, so membership in policy monitoring groups will vary accordingly.
