RESA Applauds NEPGA for Highlighting the Consumer Benefits From Competition in New England’s Electricity Marketplace

HARRISBURG, PA.— The Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA), dedicated to creating and sustaining vibrantly competitive electricity markets for the benefit of consumers, released the following statement by Dan Allegretti, vice president, State Government Affairs – East, Exelon Corp., and chair of RESA’s New England regional working group, in response to the New England Power Generators Association’s statement issued today on the consumer benefits of New England’s competitive electricity marketplace:

“Competition is working extremely well for New England consumers. Competitive retail energy suppliers are not only delivering lower power prices to shopping customers, but also innovative products and services tailored to their individual needs.

The Retail Energy Supply Association will continue to advocate for greater competition in electricity markets in New England and elsewhere, as the markets provide far greater value and innovation for consumers than is possible under bureaucratic price regulation of monopoly-protected utility companies.”
