RESA Testifies at Pennsylvania En Banc Hearing Offering Recommendations on End-State Default Service Models to Improve Competition for the Benefit of Customers

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – The Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA), a leading trade association of retail energy suppliers committed to the advocacy of vibrant and sustainable competitive energy markets, will provide testimony during the March 21, 2012 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Retail Markets en banc hearing. This hearing is part of the Commission’s broad retail markets investigation proceeding to examine various policies to ensure more customers get the benefits of a robust competitive electricity market.

“We commend the Commission for once again bringing together a series of expert panels to provide thoughtful insight into how to improve the restructured electricity market to provide consumers with greater access to products and services that best meet their needs,” said Ritchie Hudson, Pennsylvania State Chair for RESA. “While more than 1.5 million consumers have made the switch from utility supply to competitive generation supply in Pennsylvania, millions more can do so. The Commission’s thorough evaluation of policy improvements and end-state default service models for the benefit of consumers shows true leadership. We thank them for this leadership and look forward to working with them to ensure success.”
