Eligo Energy Becomes Newest Member of the Retail Energy Supply Association

HARRISBURG, Pa. and CHICAGO (July 11, 2024) – The Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA), the nation’s leading trade association representing competitive retail energy suppliers, announces the addition of Eligo Energy as its newest member.

Eligo Energy is a retail electricity supplier based in Chicago. The company uses technology and advanced analytics to provide its customers with optimum choices to meet their energy supply needs. Eligo Energy operates in nine states and Washington, D.C., through partnerships with 53 power and natural gas service utilities.

“We are very pleased to welcome Eligo Energy as a member of the organization,” said Edwin Dearman, president of RESA. “We are confident they will play a crucial role in advancing RESA’s mission to foster efficient, sustainable and consumer-focused competitive retail energy markets.”

“We are excited to participate in RESA and have been very impressed with what we have seen since joining,” said Michael Osowski, CEO of Eligo Energy. “RESA’s public relations, regulatory and legislative coverage is deep and thorough.”

Eligo Energy is backed by robust management and operation teams of seasoned industry professionals. The leadership teams are committed to driving innovation, delivering exceptional customer service, and optimizing product and user experience to ensure consumers receive the service and value they deserve.

“For more than 20 years, RESA’s advocacy efforts have been the key to earning a reputation as a sought-after voice within the retail energy industry. Our commitment to supporting our members to preserve and promote competitive markets for electricity and natural gas for the benefit of consumers aligns perfectly with Eligo Energy’s mission,” said Tracy McCormick, executive director of RESA. “We look forward to the collaborative efforts and fresh perspectives they bring to our association.”

RESA advocates for consumer choice in 13 states and the District of Columbia, representing large and small retail electricity and natural gas providers. As advocates for retail electric & gas restructuring issues presented by state public utility commissions, state legislatures and FERC, RESA members routinely meet with policy and decision-makers.

Each market has its own policy monitoring group for electric and natural gas issues, in which members elect a chair to spearhead efforts. The groups monitor policy developments related to electricity and natural gas retail competition, whether before state legislatures or regulatory commissions and administrative agencies.

Alex Goldstein and Mark Friedgan founded Eligo Energy LLC, an alternative energy retailer in April 2012. Since then, Eligo Energy has emerged as one of the most innovative and fastest-growing retail energy suppliers in the industry. Eligo Energy operates in electric markets in Illinois, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Connecticut and gas markets including Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan and Ohio.
