(BOSTON) May 14, 2025 —The Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA) shares Governor Healey’s commitment to addressing energy costs for Massachusetts consumers and businesses through the introduction of the Energy Affordability, Independence & Innovation Act. We are encouraged that the proposed legislation preserves the state’s competitive energy marketplace and continues to protect consumer choice.
RESA is also pleased to see some provisions in the bill that align with reforms we have long supported, including enhanced transparency and accountability in utility operations and a focus on fostering innovation across the energy sector.
As an organization with a longstanding commitment to consumer protection, market integrity and energy innovation, RESA looks forward to working constructively with the Healey Administration and the Legislature throughout the legislative process. Our goal is to help ensure the final version of this legislation delivers meaningful benefits to both residential and business consumers across the Commonwealth.
ABOUT RETAIL ENERGY SUPPLY ASSOCIATION RESA is a broad and diverse group of retail energy suppliers who share the common vision that competitive retail electricity and natural gas markets deliver a more efficient, customer-oriented outcome than a regulated utility structure. RESA is devoted to working with all stakeholders to promote vibrant and sustainable competitive retail energy markets for residential and industrial consumers.
