HARRISBURG, Pa. (September 29, 2026) – The Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA), the nation’s leading trade association representing competitive retail energy suppliers, announced today that Kristina Montgomery of Vistra Corp. was elected to serve as president of the association. In this role, Montgomery will work with RESA’s executive committee, member companies, and state chairs to guide the association’s priorities as policymakers across the country confront rising energy costs, growing electricity demand, and an evolving energy landscape.
Montgomery is a senior director of state and regional policy engagement at Vistra Corp. She brings extensive experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs and competitive retail energy markets to the organization. Before this, Montgomery served in several leadership positions for RESA, including as a member of RESA’s executive committee and as a state chair representing key competitive energy markets.
“Kristina has been a strong advocate for competitive energy markets and the consumers they serve,” said Tracy McCormick, executive director of RESA. “Her deep understanding of the regulatory and legislative issues facing our industry, combined with her years of leadership within RESA, make her well-suited to serve as president. We look forward to working with Kristina as RESA continues advocating for policies that protect consumer choice and promote vibrant, sustainable competitive energy markets.”
“I am honored to be elected as president of RESA and help build on the association’s longstanding commitment to preserving and strengthening competitive retail energy markets,” said Montgomery. “Consumers benefit when they have a choice. Consumers nationwide want the ability to select an energy supplier and a product that best meets their needs. I look forward to working with RESA’s members, policymakers and stakeholders to ensure competitive markets continue delivering choice, innovation and value to households and businesses.”
RESA is focused on advancing competitive market policies that encourage innovation, give consumers greater control over their energy decisions and create opportunities for suppliers to offer products and services tailored to customers’ preferences. RESA will continue its work with legislators, regulators and other stakeholders nationally to promote transparent, competitive retail energy markets and ensure consumers retain the ability to make informed choices about their energy supply.
